Lorelei Saliani

Lorelei Ann Saliani passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 6, 2025. Lorelei Saliani was born on June 3, 1960, in International Falls, Minnesota. After graduating high school in Las Vegas, Nevada, Lorelei went on to join the Navy as a Sonar Systems Operator/Analyst. After her discharge from the Navy, Lorelei returned to International Falls to pursue her Associates Degree at Rainy River Community College, then went on to receive her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. Lorelei and her children then moved to Yuma, Arizona in 1992 where Lorelei taught Kindergarten at O.C. Johnson Elementary School until 1999. Lorelei and her children then moved to Aransas Pass, Texas where she taught Kindergarten and Pre-K at Faulk Early Childhood Center until she retired in 2017. Lorelei loved teaching and loved her students. In conversation she would always refer to her students as “her kids”. Her kindness and thoughtful personality touched many lives throughout her career. This was made evident when former students would continue to write to her after they had graduated school and began their adult lives. Many of her students and co-workers often brought up how much they loved when she would bring some of her birds into class. Her students loved to see how the baby birds she would bring would grow up. Summers were often spent travelling back to International Falls to spend time with family. The road trips were always filled listening to Doctor Hook, Queen, and Black Sabbath. She loved music and passed this love for music on to her two children. After retiring, Lorelei continued to enjoy time with her family and her birds in Ingleside, Texas.

Lorelei Saliani is preceded in death by her father Lloyd Chezick and sisters Ann Marie Chezick and Catherine Chezick. She is survived by her mother Bernice Chezick (Gross), brother Scott Chezick, sister Teresa Spiess (Chezick), son Nicholas Saliani, daughter Alicia Saliani, and five grandchildren.
