Lillie Mae McCoy-Killebrew was born October 27, 1942, in Houston, Tx to the late Lillie Mae and Ardean McCoy. She was the second of 10 children, Mary Elizabeth Smith, James Edward McCoy, Lawrence Clifton McCoy, Janie Marie McCoy, Helen Joyce Lott, Luther James Lott, Bertha Mae Gaye, Roy Edward Lott, Julia Ann Fields. She departed this life on September 6, 2023, at the age of 80. Lillie Mae was united in matrimony to Joseph Wesley Taylor and had four children. Michael Wesley Taylor (Christine), Demetria Lorraine Lewis (deceased), Sheila Rochelle Tealer (LaVan), and Kami Lynn Hale (Floyd). Lillie joined Providence Baptist Church when she lived in Gonzales, TX under the leadership of Dr. Rev. Robert Armstrong.
Lillie was employed in the health care industry and other jobs that she truly enjoyed.
She was loved by all and known in the family for her banana pudding and her connection with the spirit world. Her love for her family was immeasurable and her home was the place everyone gathered during holidays and family events.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Demetria (Mece) Taylor-Lewis, her parents Lillie Mae Lott, Ardean McCoy Sr., her stepfather Luther James Lott, brothers Ardean McCoy, Lawrence Clifton McCoy and Roy Edward Lott, and husband Ross Killebrew.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her 3 children Michael (Christine) Taylor, Sheila (LaVan) Tealer, Kami (Floyd) Hale and bonus daughters LaShone (Jeff) Jones, Dawana (John) Thomas, Stephanie (Anthony) Clark, special friends Dolores and Pablo Martinez and Katherine Taylor. Eight grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 11 AM-12:30Pm. Funeral service will be held Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 1pm. Final resting place will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Texas.
