In loving memory of Lena White, a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandma, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Lena departed this world on July 25, 2024, at the age of 74 in Aransas Pass, TX. Surrounded by her loving family. Lena was born October 12,1949 in Fulton, MS to Elva and Willie Upton. Her family moved to Aransas Pass TX when she was a young girl. Lena met her husband Otis at the age of 15. They were married shortly after and started their life together, continuing happily for 58 years. The memory of Lena will forever be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering compassion, gentle soul and love for the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Otis White, mother, Eva May Louise Mckee, father, Willie Thomas Upton, brother, Cecil Upton and sister, Dean Hale.
Lena was survived by son, Ricky White, daughter, Melissa Day (Gary), son, Alex White, sister, Dorothy Echols, brothers, Donnie Upton and Eugene Upton, grandsons, Scott White, Jarred Day (Ashley), granddaughters, Brittney Laister (Eric), Ashley Allen (Wesley) , Summer Day (Rey). Great grandchildren, Maximus, Heidi, and Goldie Day, August, Abram, and Adrik Laister, Ezekiel Castillo and Barrett Allen. Lena was also considered a second mom and grandma to many others.
Lena's life will be celebrated with a Memorial Service on August 10, 2024, at 10:00 am , The location is Crossroads Church 417 N Houston, Aransas Pass, where friends and family will gather to pay their respects and share cherished memories.
Let us come together to commemorate Lena's life, to celebrate the love she shared, and to find comfort in the knowledge that her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Lena was truly a Proverb 31 Woman .
She is strong and is respected by the people. She looks forward to the future with joy. She speaks wise words. And she teaches others to be kind. She watches over her family. And she is always busy. Her children bless her. Her husband also praises her.'

With a heart full of love and a home full of warmth, Lena lived a life of service to those around her. Her family was her top priority, and she made sure they always felt cared for and cherished. Her hobbies that brought her joy were bowling, painting, garage selling and antiquing. These hobbies and passions of hers allowed her to connect with others, but it was her love for people that truly defined her. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will continue to inspire us all to live with kindness and compassion.
