Laura Ann Taylor passed away September 7, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on September 24, 1964 in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Laura graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1982 and went on to get a court reporting degree from Alvin Community College. She began her career in court reporting working for the court in Greenville, Texas, for Judge Banner. She moved to Dallas in her early 20's and started her own court reporting business. Laura loved all animals, and they adored her. She rescued many dogs and cats over the years, none more precious to her than Jumbo Jack, her beloved Great Pyrenees. Laura lit up every room that she walked into with her bright smile and infectious laugh. She was genuine and selfless and a joy to be around. She moved to Rockport to be near her mother in 2010 and found great peace and joy there, despite the onset of Pick's Disease that ultimately took her away much too soon. Laura was only 54.
She is survived by her mother, Ruthalea Taylor of Rockport; sister Sandy Cofer, brother-in-law, Kevin Cofer and her beloved nephews, Michael and Jack Cofer, of Houston. Laura was preceded in death by her father, Mike Taylor.
A celebration of Laura's life will be scheduled for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that you please consider making a donation on Laura's behalf to Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue (220 Pack Horse Drive, Bastrop, TX 78602) or the Bluefield Project that is dedicated to help accelerate the search for a cure for frontotemporal dementia (637 Carolina Street, San Francisco, CA 94107).
