Larry Maypole

Larry Dale Maypole, age 62, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 25, 2023, with his beloved wife of 20 years, by his side. Larry was born and raised on February 4, 1961 in Hobbs New Mexico by his parents Bob Hardy and June Bullard. Larry attended Hobbs New Mexico Highschool and went on to join the Navy shortly after. Larry loved riding motorcycles and even started 3 chapters while in New Mexico. Larry was considered a one percenter, meaning he loved raising hell and was good at it! Friends and family (even police officers) knew Larry as his road name “Snake” or “Python”. Larry was also a retired Gypsy and rode with the club for many years. When not riding motorcycles, he was an avid shrimper, a lab tech and even a dump truck driver, amongst other things. Larry will be dearly missed and loved by so many. He is preceded in death by his parents; W.E. Maypole Jr and June Bullard.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Maypole; brothers, Russell and Jim Bob Hardy; daughter, April Stiefel (Don Story); grandson, Shelton Anderson; and granddaughter, Eanna Foster. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers in the days to come.
