Kirsten Amanda Austin, passed away on January 18th, 2024, at the age of 50. She was born on September 13, 1973, in Meridian, Mississippi, to her proud parents Bruce Norman Touve and Faye Ward Touve. Kirsten spent her formative years in Virginia and graduated from Chantilly High School, where she embarked on her lifelong journey of creativity and adventure. Kirsten's heart was forever captured by the beauty and tranquility of the Texas coast. She made Rockport her home and forged a deep connection with the sea. Whether she was gracefully sailing on the open waters, exploring picturesque coastlines in her kayak, or casting her line for the perfect catch, Kirsten found solace and joy in nature's embrace. With an impeccable eye for design and an immense passion for art, Kirsten could always be found immersed in her creative pursuits. From meticulously curating her home to cultivating vibrant gardens, her artistic touch breathed life into every corner of her world. Additionally, music held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the melodies that resonated with her soul.
Kirsten's zest for life was shared with her beloved late husband, John David Austin, whom she married on July 30, 1999. Their love story was one of unwavering companionship and shared dreams. Although John has preceded her in death, Kirsten leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her children, Thomas Alexander Austin and Zoe Christina Austin, were the lights of her life. Kirsten's nurturing spirit and unwavering support helped guide them through life's challenges, inspiring them to pursue their dreams with determination and grace. She was immensely proud of their achievements and found immense joy in witnessing their growth.
A celebration of Kirsten's life and legacy will be held on Monday, January 22nd, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring Kirsten's memory and sharing stories of her remarkable journey. In loving memory of Kirsten, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, a cause close to her heart, in lieu of flowers. Kirsten's untimely departure has left a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those who loved her most.
