Joyce Donnan

Joyce Flores Donnan, 93, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great -Great Grandmother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Joyce was a former resident of Rockport, Texas.

Joyce was born in Gregory, Texas on February 15, 1924. She was born Jovita "Joyce" Flores and was the 3rd child of 14 children. She was also a devoted mother, sister, and Chef to many well-known celebrities such as Henry Kissinger, Ms. Christina Ford of Ford Modeling Agency, and Executive CEO of Texas Commerce Bank, Mr. John H. Hill. She was a very caring, humble Christian with a strong sense of integrity and responsibility.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Consuelo and Angelo Flores of Rockport, Texas; husband, Lewis Malcolm Donnan (1990), her beloved daughter, Debra L. Donnan (2015), her loving son, Felix Garcia Jr. (2016), devoted grandson, Christopher J. Donnan (2007) and infant granddaughter, Adrianna Nicole Donnan (1973).

She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Virginia Garrity (Gus), 2 sons, George Garcia and James L. Donnan (LaDonna), all of San Antonio, Texas. Surviving siblings are Palmira Jacobs, Guillermo "Willie" Flores, Joe Angel Flores, and Benny Flores; daughter-in-law, Yolanda Garcia (Felix) all of Rockport, Texas; as well as ex-daughter-in-law, Helen Albini Garcia.

She was a loving Grandmother to 15 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

We would like to thank Cathy Garcia of San Antonio, Texas for the excellent care and dedication she provided to Joyce.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited the same evening at 7:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Cornwall St. in Rockport, Texas. Interment will follow at the Rockport Cemetery.
