Josephine Burton

Josephine Ann (Michalewicz) Burton, 68, was called to her eternal resting place on August 29, 2020 after battling breast cancer. She entered this world on May 30, 1952 in Rosebud, Texas, born to Rosanna Paulina (Robert) and Joseph August Michalewicz.

Jo received her master’s in business and went on to teach mostly business and some computer science in college. In addition, she was an accomplished piano player who taught piano lessons throughout her life and was very fond of her students. For over a decade she played piano for her church, St. Christopher’s in Portland, TX. She also loved sewing and quilting. Many precious memories were made traveling extensively with her family.

Jo will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live forever in our hearts.

She is preceded in death by her parents Rosanna and Joseph Michalewicz.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband David Bruce Burton; daughter, Amanda (A.J.) Zepeda; Grandson, Austin Zepeda; brothers, Robert (Sylvia) Michalewicz and William (Marla) Michalewicz; sisters, Frances (Donald) Loyd; Mary Helen (Joe) Wright and Nancy (Andy) Dysart.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at St. Christopher’s By the Sea Episcopal Church in Portland, TX
