Jose Gonzalez

Jose Reyes Gonzalez, 80, went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2020. He was born to parents Luisa and Pedro Gonzalez on January 7, 1940 in Robstown, Texas.

He is preceded in death by parents, Pedro Gonzalez and Luisa Valdez Gonzalez; sister, Clemencia De Leon.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 33 years, Maria Saenz Gonzalez of Aransas Pass, Tx.; brother, Ricardo Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Tx.; sisters, Raquel Pineda of Corpus Christi, Tx.; Evangelina Mendez of Corpus Christi, Tx. and Soila (Frank) Valdez of Corpus Christi, Tx.; daughters, Sandy Lemon of Corpus Christi, Tx.; Christina Pinn of Corpus Christi, Tx. and Kathy (Eddie) Reyes of Corpus Christi, Tx.; stepchildren, Lina Rodriguez of Alpine, Tx.; Norma Rodriguez (Bennie Benavides) of Gregory, Tx.; Irma (Alex) Guerrero of Corpus Christi, Tx.; Sandra (Johannes) Korteland of Alpine, Tx.; Crystal Gallegos of Aransas Pass, Tx. and Tomas Mora of Aransas Pass, Tx. Thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Rey served in the United States Army for five years. He was stationed in Alaska and Vietnam.

Rey loved to bar-be-que for the whole family even if it wasn’t a special occasion. He liked to tinker with broken items to try to get it to work. He was usually successful. He was a good dancer and loved working on the yard. He adored his English bulldog, Ava, who he called his Maranita.

Rey will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, his memory will live forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Tx. Burial to follow at Gregory Cemetery.
