John Mickler “Mike” Pendaz, 69, beloved husband and father, went home to be with the Lord and go fishing in the waters of heaven on July 13, 2022. He entered this world on October 30, 1952 in Taft, TX, born to Ned Pendaz and Elinor Pendaz. His hometown was Ingleside, but he resided in Corpus Christi, Texas for the last 30 years.
Mike worked for many years in the construction industry and refineries as a pipe fitter, welder, and boilermaker. He loved to tell stories and jokes, spend time with loved ones, go to the beach, listen to music, carve art from wood, and most of all, go fishing. He made friends everywhere he went: the bait stand, the fishing pier, the produce aisle, the farmers' market, on vacations throughout the land, and around the neighborhood. He made friends and family laugh every day even while facing the challenges of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). His positive attitude was an inspiration to all he met. Mike will be missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He would like to tell everyone “Fish on brother fishermen. Fish every time God gives you the opportunity.”
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Dante.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 27 years, Margaret Rose Pendaz; sons, Joshua Mickler Pendaz (Jessica), John Travis Pendaz (Annie), Richard Brian Folmar (Sunny); daughters, Layla Dawn Pendaz (Edward Leeper), Lahni Beth Hunt (Brackston), Denise Lynn Blazek (Shawn), Tracy Marie Alexander (Wesley); brother, William Pendaz; sisters, Dorothea Owens, Leona Sodke, Carol Trimyer, Celeste Lyman; 14 grandchildren, Aiya, Nathan, Abby, Katie, Gage, Logan, Karson, Hazel, Harvey, Brooke, Wyatt, Calvin, Adelaide and Ellie Mae.
