Captain Jack McPartland (John Joseph McPartland) died on December 9, 2020.  He was born on September 2, 1964, in San Antonio, Texas.  He will be reunited with his Poppa and Woey (maternal grandparents) and paternal grandparents.  He is survived by Nancy Fromme (wife), daughter (Nicole Steketee Ceciliani) 3 stepkids (Edwin and Daniel Kraft and Elise Scarbrough and spouses along with 4 grandchildren) parents (Christine and Gary Slankard of San Antonio) a father ( John Joseph McPartland Sr...also known as Mac) a brother (James Eric Mcpartland and wife, Laura).
During his young adult years, he went to TSTI and received a certification of completion in diesel mechanics.  He was very knowledgeable in mechanics....to include gas and diesel.  This knowledge helped him to excel in working in the construction industry as a concrete pump operator.  He was proud as (at the time) being the only 42mt operator (in the state of Texas)  He understood them and was able to use them to benefit finishers to the highest abilities an operator could have.  He retired to the coast....where he got a captain's license and went on to grow Treble J Charters as a fishing guide.  He loved fishing dearly and made it a point to make sure his clients would have an enjoyable time.  He tried his hand at tournament fishing with his long-time friend Todd Cunningham  Locals knew he was on the water just by his boisterous ways or by seeing the orange and tan Trencat out on the water.  He preferred running his business as a friend on the water instead of as a competition.  He actively made sure he helped those same guides....whether it be with giving guides his extra rods and reels when the theft of rods and reels would happen or letting his friends know that sweet spot on the water or even a new bait.  When the pandemic started he stayed optimistic and let his clients know what was going on....and if the weather was going to be bad he let them know ahead of time if fishing was going to be bad due to weather.  With the pandemic, he chose to lower the number of people going on his boat.  From 4 to 3 people to allow for social distancing.
Hurricane Harvey had taught him quite a bit about survival from how to make a business work during times of disaster...whether physical or economical..  He chose to help those with his knowledge..whether it be his friends or kids.

He will be sorely missed by quite a few.  Jack was the person that when you met him you did not forget him.
