Joel Valdez

Joel Valdez, age 62 of Rockport, passed away May 27, 2022.

He was born in Austin, Texas on March 10, 1960.

Joel graduated from William B. Travis High School in Austin, Texas, and also graduated from Local 1266 Carpentry Trade School.

He was married to Teresa (Lange) Miertschin on March 6, 2004.

Joel was the owner of Bul Man Consulting and had a career in Construction Project Management.  Joel worked on numerous TxDot Projects and retired in 2017.

He was a member of National Rifle Association, and Austin Rodeo for numerous of years.

He had a passion for Fishing, Hunting, and Traveling.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alvaro and Julia Valdez; Wife, Maria Moran; and Daughter, Amanda Valdez.

He is survived by his wife Teresa Valdez; Children: Tiffany Valdez (Rickey Lindstedt), Dustin (Misty) Miertschin, Weston (Ashley) Miertschin, Dillon Miertschin; Grandchildren: Bryce Miertschin, Shelby Miertschin, & Hailey Miertschin; Great Grandchildren: Kamrie Miertschin, Gracelynn Mae Miertschin, & Nova Skye Miertschin; Siblings: Sylvia (Gary) Ledbetter, Al (Lupe) Valdez, Yvonne Valdez (Christina Rodriguez), JoAnn (Bob) McCoy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and great nephews.

Memorial Services will held on June 11, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at VFW Post 2527, 1503 FM 20, Bastrop, Texas.
