Joe Ellen Nelson Mack, 79 was born on November 29, 1942, in Sinton, Texas. Her race on earth ended on January 9, 2022, when she entered her eternal home. Joe Ellen was born to James (Louie) and Celesta Nelson of Aransas Pass, where she was raised and lived in the surrounding area her entire life. Joe Ellen married Howard Mack on June 11, 1060. Their union grew into a family with the addition of 3 children: Lori, Lance, and Scott. Howard preceded her in death in 1987.
Joe Ellen was very active in her church, Apostolic Temple in Aransas Pass and later at Solid Rock United Pentecostal Church in Corpus Christi. She loved the Lord and looked forward to being in his presence whenever the church doors were open. Joe Ellen loved children. She helped nurture her grandchildren, foster children, and many “adopted” grandchildren in her church and was known as Meme by all.
Another love of Meme’s was Mexican food. She was always ready for good tacos and enchiladas from Kiko’s, her favorite Mexican Restaurant.
Joe Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, brother James (Jimbo) Nelson, sister Dorothy (Peanut) Shetters, husband Howard Mack and son Lance Mack. She is survived by son Scott(Be), Daughter-in-law Kim (Lance)and daughter Lori Cassel(Ken). Her grandchildren; Lacey Brown (Trey), Byron Mack (Skylar), Nick Mack, Noah Mack, Brianna Mack, and Micah Mack, great grandson, Finley Mack, her pride and joy, as well as numerous extended family members.
Meme will be greatly missed in our lives, but we know we will ser her again on the Great Resurrection Day. We are looking forward to the reunion day.
