Joanne Lucas

Joanne "JoJo" Lucas, 79, of Rockport, Texas passed away on November 12, 2021 at CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She was born on May 3, 1943 to Gilbert and Edna Aitken in Woodward, Oklahoma. She grew up in Oklahoma until high school, when she and her family moved to Donna, Texas. After graduating from Donna High School, she attended Northwestern State College in Alva, Oklahoma. She married Edwin Arthur Lucas on May 7, 1962 at the Pearl Harbor
Naval Chapel in Honolulu, Hawaii. Together they had two children and six  grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Aitken and Laura Edna Aitken (née, Messner); and siblings, Howard Aitken, Ralph Aitken, Betty Aitken Willis, and Charles Aitken.

She is survived by her husband  nd, Edwin Arthur Lucas; siblings, Raymond Aitken of Wichita, Kansas and Evelyn Aitken Brown of Clinton, Oklahoma, son, Jeffrey Allen Lucas (Sherri) of Arlington, Texas daughter, Cynthia Lucas Kobbe (Charles Kevin) of Baltimore, Maryland; and six grandchildren: Quentin, Conner, Kelsey, Katherine, Kayla, and James.

She will be remembered for her loving kindness, infectious smile, and devotion to family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
