Joan Walker

Joan Elizabeth Walker, 83 of Ingleside, Texas, passed away peacefully at the Angel Bright Hospice in Corpus Christi on Sunday, August 19, 2018. She was born on February 1, 1935 in Buna, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin F. Richardson and Ruth Owens Richardson; sisters, Ercelle Gaines, Gloria Bedok, Ludie Hansen and brother, Perry Richardson. In April of 2017, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert Harold Walker.

Joan is survived by sisters, Eugenia Eakin of Temple, Texas and Patti Richardson of Jasper, Texas; step-daughter, Elaine Donges and husband Bill of East Chatham, New York and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was an avid reader and excelled at spelling and grammar. She had a long and successful career as a proofreader. She enjoyed travel and lived in many cities for her vocation. Throughout her career she lived in Detroit, Michigan� Seattle, Washington� Juneau, Alaska and San Francisco, California before retiring to Ingleside, Texas.

Although she is gone, her memory will remain in our hearts forever.

Graveside service will be held at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas at 9:00a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018.
