Jo Crum

Jo Anne Crum passed away on December 18, 2021, in Portland, TX. Born on August 6, 1949, in Winnie, TX to Jerry and John Crum, she is preceded in death by her parents and brother John M. Crum, Jr. Jo Anne was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who is survived by her brother, James D. Crum; her three children, Mitch McHugh, Misti McHugh, and Mac McHugh (Carrie). She is also survived by her seven beloved grandchildren and four great grandchildren, including Micaela Salvador (Jose), David McHugh (Ashley),

Matthew McHugh (Breeanne), Brianna Almaraz, Megan McHugh, Mitchell McHugh, Mason McHugh, Jayla Salvador, Mila Salvador, Riley McHugh and Millie McHugh.

Jo Anne grew up in Thibodaux, LA and graduated from Thibodaux High School where she went on to attend Nicholls State University. With her spirited temperament and tremendous work ethic she was one of the first women to cultivate a successful career in the oil field industry in which she excelled for over 40 years.

In her free time, Jo Anne enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved dog, Angel. From attending events for her grandchildren, getting away with her host of wonderful girlfriends, gardening and telling her favorite Boudreaux and Thibodeaux jokes, she experienced a lifetime of laughter, love, and joy that will always be cherished.

Jo Anne was a beautiful person with a vivacious personality that was one of a kind. She was respected and admired by countless friends and coworkers for her charm and quick-witted nature, and was a fiercely loyal, straight shooter who will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life ceremony in Jo Anne’s honor on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX.
