Jerry Goble

d. July 3, 2017

Jerry Wayne Goble joined God in Heaven on Monday, July 3, 2017. Jerry was born in Llano County on November 15, 1937. His parents were A.D. and Doris Goble. Jerry grew up in Del Rio, Texas.

Jerry retired from Central Power and Light Co. after 35 years of service to the company in March 1994. Jerry was a cattle rancher and a very dedicated gardener. He was well known for his ten-foot-tall tomato plants. He also had great talents, constructing a bird aviary for Gayle's doves, and building an elaborate garage for the family home. His family said he invented a way to sit on the deck at the ranch house and trap cattle as they came in for water by pulling a rope tied to the cattle pen gate.

After Jerry's retirement, he and his beloved wife of 37 years, Gayle, spent much of their time at their ranch in Austwell, Texas. They loved working together on the ranch and riding horses and four-wheelers when the ranch work was done.

Jerry was a loving father, and to his step-children he was definitely the Dad he didn't have to be. He had great pride in ALL his children, Douglas Goble of Edna, TX; Dawn Goble Spiegelhoff and Craig of Ingleside, TX; Layne and Angie Lueckemeyer of Daphne, AL; Kyle Lueckemeyer of Spring, TX; Michelle Mckoy of Las Vegas, NV; Kim Lueckemeyer of Panama City, FL; Jeanene Sikorski of Spring, TX; Stephanie Lueckemeyer of Mt. Pleasant, TX; and one son, Todd Lueckemeyer who preceded him in death.

PawPaw, as he was affectionately called, was idolized by his grandchildren, Jason Goble, Tiffany Britain, Cory and Casey Spiegelhoff, Brittany, Dustin, Austin, Chance and Payton Lueckemeyer; Brandon and Brittney Wishard; and two great-grandchildren Kendall Goble and Alyssa Lueckemeyer. The grandchildren loved to help PawPaw trap cows at the ranch, and go frog and rabbit hunting with him. They also loved to fish from the pond at the family residence.

Jerry enjoyed spending time with his siblings Arma Jean Winn, Brenda and Alva Baker, Kelly and Susan Goble, Debby and George Churchwell, Mark and Debby Goble, and his in-laws Donald and Maxie Houser, and Ronald and Lynn Houser.

Jerry was a faithful member of Ingleside United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers are Dustin, Austin and Chance Lueckemeyer, Cory Spiegelhoff, Patrick Houser, Kevin Finch, Jamie Campbell, Kenneth Allen, and Harvey Rokohl. Honorary Pallbearers are Tiffany Britain, Brittany and Payton Lueckemeyer, Stewart Wilson, and Bob Hardy.

Viewing will be held Friday, July 7, 2017 from 9AM-9PM with family present from 5-7 PM at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10 AM at First United Methodist Church in Ingleside, Texas. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
