Jeffrey Dee Buchanan, born on November 16, 1951, in Clintwood, VA, lived most of his adult life as a hardworking individual who, after retirement, lived a quiet life in Rockport, TX., where he passed entering his eternal reward on April 6, 2024.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Homer Dixon Buchanan & Geraldine Fleming Buchanan.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Christine Gerhart Buchanan, his daughter, Summer Ashley Clark, & two stepsons, Christopher Csepp (Ally), & Andrew Csepp (Emily), his two grandchildren, Braydon Buchanan-Light & Autumn Nicole Clark, his sister Rhonda Franclik (Nick), his Aunt, Sara Fleming & several nieces, nephews, & cousins.
He had a distinguished career serving as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician in the Air Force, dedicating his time & skills from 1971 to 1980 to serving his country. His passion though was for Buchanan Automation, a company based in Decatur, IL, which he initially established in his garage before expanding its reach across the United States, with a particular focus on the Midwest region.
Jeff will be remembered for his sense of humor, a love for all things sports-related, & inner peace he found in his faith. This peace was particularly evident in daily phone conversations & moments of prayer that he & his closest friend shared.
Despite a void in our hearts, we find comfort in understanding that you are peacefully resting in the loving embrace of our Lord.
We will come together on May 18, 2024, at Veterans Memorial Park in Rockport, TX to honor Jeff with a military memorial beginning at 10:00 a.m.
