d. July 21, 2017

Javier Gabriel "Gabe" Perez, 47, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2017 at his home in Aransas Pass, Texas. He was born on December 30, 1969 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Roberto and Tomasita Perez.

Gabe is preceded in death by his grandfather, Frank Perez; grandmother, Bonifacia Perez; father, Roberto O. Perez; sister, Sylvia Perez and brother, Robert Perez Jr. He is survived by his sons, Zacharey V. Proctor and Jacob M. Perez, both of Aransas Pass; daughter, Kayla A. Perez of Aransas Pass; mother, Tomasita Perez of Aransas Pass; brother, Edward R. Perez of Aransas Pass; sisters, Irene Perez of Aransas Pass, Nelda A. Vargas (J.D.) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sarah N. Perez and Veronica Fruia (Dwayne) of Aransas Pass; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and a dear family pet, their dog Takeda .

Gabe was a loving father, son, brother and a dear friend to so many. His love warmth and passion for music was one of a kind. He had a smile that could light up a room. Gabe graduated from Aransas Pass High School in 1988 and later received his Bachelors in Liberal Arts from Texas A & M Corpus Christi University in 1997. Shortly after graduating he began teaching in his beloved town of Aransas Pass; he knew early on he wanted to give back to the community and what better way to do so than education. Gabe cared and loved his students and pushed each one of them to achieve their full potential. He put on countless local events and concerts and if he was directing it, you can bet the event was going to sellout. In 2002, he became the proud owner of a local restaurant, Rob -N- Gabe's alongside his brother Robert. The community knew their restaurant for its top of the line, fine dining experience and without say, great tasting food. His customers enjoyed his friendly face and great personality; he was definitely one of a kind. His meals and service continued in Aransas Pass to date, in catering and private events. He was long-time member of the Corpus Christi Chorale, a professional musicians group, and enjoyed singing and learning alongside his peers. He was a great man and a pure soul; although he is gone, his memories, warmth and life lessons will live in our hearts forever.

A visitation will be held from 9 am - 9 pm with a prayer service beginning at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2017. All services will be held at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Interment will follow at San Ignacio Cemetery in Ingleside, Texas.
