In Loving Memory of James Douglas "Rat" Redmond
Aransas Pass, TX - James Douglas Redmond, affectionately known as "Rat," passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on February 14, 1958, in Corpus Christi, Texas, he was the beloved son of Edward and Mary Redmond.
James, a man of adventure and resilience, made a significant impact on those who knew him. He dedicated his life to the maritime industry, finding solace and joy in the vastness of the open waters. With his extensive knowledge and passion for boating, he served as a skilled and respected boat captain throughout his career.
Although James' journey has come to an end, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him deeply. He is survived by his cherished son, Jonathan Marton, his granddaughter Jamie Marton, his brother Edward Redmond, his sister Kathrine Maddison, sister-in-law Nancy Redmond, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends who will forever carry James' spirit and legacy forward.
He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Mary Redmond and his brother Greg Redmond, and his brother-in-law Mervyn Maddison.
A public visitation will take place at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass on February 25, 2024, starting at 1:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held on February 26, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, where we will gather to reminisce, share stories, and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched the hearts of many. Finally, James will be laid to rest during a graveside service at Prairie View Cemetery on the same day at 11:15 am.
James will be fondly remembered for his infectious laughter, kind heart, and unwavering spirit. His presence will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, dear "Rat". May your soul find eternal tranquility as you embark on your final voyage.
