James Ellis

James J. Ellis, 82, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Mathis, TX. James was born on May 08, 1935 in Aransas Pass, TX.

James is preceded in death by his wife Josephine Ellis and his parents Dee Carr Ellis and Cecile Hobbs.

He is survived by 3 children; James [[]aka J.J.] Ellis Jr. (Lory) of Utopia, Texas; Robert (Kim) Ellis of Rockport, TX; Becky (David) Evans from Bandera, TX; a sister-in-law and her husband, Teresa and Edward Munyer of Ramona, California; a niece and great niece, Teri and Erica of Corpus Christi; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Jimmy enjoyed being on the water and began his life on the water at a very young age. When he was a teenager, he worked on gulf shrimp boats. When he was in his twenties, he worked inland at a few different companies but his longing to be on the water had him back there running his own shrimp boat. He continued shrimping until he was 70.

A memorial service will be held at Aransas Memorial Park at a date to be determined.
