The fish will sleep easy tonight knowing that James Elliott Ray of Rockport, TX passed away early Friday morning December 27, 2019 at the age of 64. This American Dreamer was born on July 4, 1955 in Springfield, IL, his entrepreneurial spirit moved him from the Midwest to Texas in 1980. In Texas Jim found his calling in the oilfield; and found his true passions- cooking, entertaining, and the joy of making people happy. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Therese, married 42 years. Jim also leaves behind four loving children: Chris (Jen), Megan (Yusa), Liz (Heath), and Joey; and 8 grandchildren- Catherine, Mary, Mia, Anna Therese, Isla, Jack, Kate, and Louise. The funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport, TX at 11 AM on Saturday, January 4. The family will host a celebration of Jim’s life after mass. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Heart Association, and/or Coastal Conservation Association.
