Jack Harlan McCarty, 87, passed away May 6, 2018. He was born April 6, 1931 in Stamford, Texas to James Sidney McCarty and Ruby Mae Harlan McCarty. Jack proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for 20 years as an Executive for General Motors, and then purchased a dealership in Aransas Pass and renamed it Bay Chevrolet. He also owned and operated what is now Aransas Autoplex.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Edith Maria (Youngquist) McCarty of Aransas Pass, TX; his six children, Ingrid McCarty (Andy Brisnehan) of Tucson, AZ, Angela Trant of Aransas Pass, TX, Ruby Adams (Randy) of Plano, TX, Harlan McCarty (Jeanette) of Ingleside, TX, Jeanne DeAses (Mike) of Bryan, TX, James McCarty (Cindy) of Portland, TX; six grandchildren, Chelsea Luce, Tony Rinald, Derek Luce, Jack McCarty II (Randa), Ryan Trant, Ashley McCarty (Sebastien Quintanilla); and three great-grandchildren, Addison Wilson, Raelynn McCarty, Isabella Quintanilla.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, May 19 at Faith Lutheran Church, 938 W Lott Ave, Aransas Pass, TX
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to Alzheimer's Association.
