Isabel "Chavela" Avitia Adame

Isabel "Chavela" Avitia Adame, 88 years old from Ingleside, TX was granted her angel wings on November 6, 2018 after a long battle with the debilitating Alzheimers/Dimentia disease. Her final days were spent surrounded by her immediate and extended family. Isabel retired from working as a domestic housekeeper for several people around town and also worked at big fisherman for about 10 years. Her favorite past time was going to play bingo and spending time with family.

Isabel was born on July 8, 1930 in Ingleside, TX to her parents Genaro Avitia and Hipolita Garcia Avitia.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Maria Villanueva, Felicitas Adame; brother, Jose Avitia and two infant great- granddaughters, Desirae Nicole Rodriguez and Adalyn Angel Suarez.

Isabel is survived by her husband of 73 years in marriage Rodolfo H Adame; children, Refugia "Cuca" A. Adame, Rudy A. (Maria) Adame, Samuel A. Adame, Domingo A. Adame and Arnulfo A. Adame; 10 granddaughters, Anna, Terrie, Lucy, Cynthia, Annemarie, Amanda, Ashley, Michelle, Adrienne and Angela, one step-grandson, Jason Villegas, who she loved dearly as one of her own blood grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; two sisters, Sara A. (late Arturo) Gallegos, Cruz A. (late Ramiro Sr.) Adame; one brother, Genaro (late Trine) Avitia Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Isabel will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:00 am at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Christian burial will follow at San Ignacio Cemetery in Ingleside, TX.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Jonathan Mondragon, Abel Salazar, Anthony Villarreal, Hector Garcia Jr., Saul Adame, Joel Adame and respectfully, Honorary Pallbearer: Rosendo H. Adame.
