Huan Ngo

Huan Duc Ngo, 51, of Rockport, passed away Saturday evening August 6th.  He was born in  Sao Mai, Vietnam in 1968  immigrated to the United States in 1975, where his family eventually settled in the seafaring community of Rockport-Fulton in 1979.

Huan attended Rockport-Fulton Junior High School and High School where he excelled in football, playing linebacker, offensive guard, and defensive tackle, often playing both ways for the entire game. He also competed in powerlifting, winning Second in the state powerlifting meet. After high school, he became a shrimper, oysterman, fish house owner, and restaurant owner. He met his beautiful wife, Lynn, and together they have 4 wonderful sons: Darren, Dylan, Haas, and Cameron. Together Huan and Lynn opened Hu-Dat in Ingleside in 2003. In 2016 he opened his 2nd restaurant Ngo’s Diner and his 3rd and final restaurant Pier 77 in 2020.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Hoa Thi Ngo, his father, Yeng Duc Ngo and his sister Nghai Thi Ngo.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn; their sons; Darren, Dylan, Haas, and Cameron. He also survived by his siblings: Son, To, Thim, Vong, Tron, Qui, Nhung, Hang, and Chau.

Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m.-9:00p.m. with Holy Rosary recited at 6:00p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2022 and Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home with Holy Rosary recited at 6:00p.m. and Mass to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be private.
