Horace Almon Brundrett Jr. 91, passed away on February 12, 2024. Horace was born on May 22, 1932, to parents, Horace A and Laura Brundrett Sr in Rockport, Texas.
He is preceded in his death are his parents; wife, Mildred Brundrett; son, Horace A. Brundrett III; daughters, Shannon Degroat, Joanna Brundrett, and Robin Brundrett; longtime partner, Rosalie Routh
Horace will be remembered by his two sons, Morgan and Larry Brundrett; brother, Alfred Brundrett; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Horace was considered a “Jack of all Trades”! He served in the United States Navy in his youth. He was a Tug-boat Captain, a Ranch Manager for the Matagorda Island, a Real Estate Investor and a life-long Rancher. He was a dedicated family man, kind and generous to all he knew. He cherished the time he spent at the Cracker Barrel drinking coffee with his buddies. He loved to spend time outdoors and you rarely saw him sitting still. He could outwork someone half his age! He wasn’t afraid to offer his opinion if he thought you needed to hear it. He enjoyed a good home cooked meal. Fresh seafood and cornbread were among his favorites. He had a sweet tooth and loved fresh apple pie, chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk, banana pudding, or ice cream, which he insisted had to be Blue Bell.
Horace's departure leaves a hole for all who knew and loved him. He will be missed. He was truly an original that God called home.
