Henry S. Hershberger, loving husband, father, Christian, and friend passed away on Wednesday Aug 21, 2019 in Aransas Pass, Texas while fishing. Henry was Born December 28, 1948 and was 70 years old.

Prior to Henry’s retirement, he was the owner of Hershberger Allstate Insurance & Financial Services, a Life & Financial Services Agent with Principal and Mass Mutual, a licensed Realtor with BIC Realty, and the owner and operator of Dover Meat Market, in Dover, DE where he met Rachel, his wife of 48 years

A passionate philanthropist who always took the time to help those around him, Henry was a former president of the San Antonio chapter of the Kidney Foundation, very active in his church – St. Mary Star of the Sea, and was a 3rd degree Knight with Chapter 11420 of the Knights of Columbus.

Henry fostered deep and loving relationships with his children and was unequivocally there to guide them and impart what he had learned from life. He lived his faith and to know him was to feel included, accepted, appreciated and inspired. All of the things he enjoyed were passions of his - fishing, traveling, the Houston Astros, the San Antonio Spurs among others – he was a wealth of knowledge and incredibly capable. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling the country with Rachel and their dogs in their RV, together they witnessed and experienced many people and places.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Anna (Yoder), sister Katie, and brother Levi. Left to cherish Henry’s memory is his devoted wife Rachel, son Michael, daughter Anna (Andrew), grandchildren James and Jonathan, sister Rebecca, brothers Daniel (Ruth), and Edward (Mary).

Visitation will be held Friday Aug 30th from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30th, 2019 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in memory of Henry on Saturday August 31 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea, followed by his interment.
