Harry Leonard, 84, of Rockport, Texas passed away surrounded by his wife and children on April 11, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born on April 28, 1932 in San Antonio, TX.
Joe, as Harry was known to his friends and Family, was a loving father and husband. He graduated A&I in 1955 with a bachelor's Degree in Agriculture where he was on the A&I rodeo team. Farming and Ranching was his first love but became an accomplished welder and partnered in welding business with a friend. Joe loved music, his church, and salt water fishing. His greatest enjoyment was listening to the laughter of his Family around the table.
Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Ruth Ann Leonard. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Leonard; children and spouses, Joe Leonard (Angie) Boerne, Sharon Leonard Grapevine, Catherine Soret (Ron) Castroville, Tom Leonard (Revis) Uvalde and Mary Hollon (Bill) Uvalde.
Ten grandchildren, Crystal Metzger, Debbie Wiatrek, Megan Leonard, Thomas Soret, Matthew Soret, Sarah Nickodam, Kristi Gerdes, Amy Quinn, Joe Hollon and Ben Hollon, as well as eleven treasured great grandchildren. In-laws Joe and Jerri Sullivan Rockport, Mary Shotwell Rockport, Michael and Margaret Hancock Maybank.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Rockport.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the church or charity of your choice.
Internment of ashes will be held at St.Phillips Episcopal Church in Uvalde Sunday April 23 at 3:00 PM.
