Harris McAshan Baker II was a 7th generation Texan, born in Houston Texas April 15th, 1991. He moved with his family to Austin as a child, before moving to Rockport TX.
Harris is survived by Mother Robbin Baker Kersey, Father Frank Matthews Baker, Sisters Caroline McAshan Baker, and Claire Matthews Baker, Fiancé Chandler Tomsu, Grandfather Franklin Dew White, Aunt Louise Baker Weil, Uncles Harris (Emily) McAshan Baker, Mark (Crystal) Steven White, and David (Kelly) Allen White. Many cousins, friends, and a brotherhood of firefighters.
He was preceded by Grandparents, Ann McAshan and Robert L. Baker; Grandmother Linda Frederick White.
Harris attended Westlake High School in Austin, Texas where he loved to play lacrosse. He worked in property management in Dallas, Texas.
An avid Republican, Harris loved to cook and share food. He treasured his truck, spent his time fishing & hunting, and enjoyed a good cigar. He dedicated his heart to his family, his brotherhood, and the love of his life, Chandler. Above all, he sought opportunities to serve his community as a Firefighter. In addition to duties as a firefighter, Harris Baker was Rockport Volunteer Fire Department's Sergeant at Arms. He was recognized as both the rookie and firefighter of the year for 2020.
Harris is fondly remembered for his fierce, unconditional, and selfless love for his family and friends. He extended genuine kindness to everyone he encountered with his infectious smile and southern drawl.
Harris will be deeply missed. Donations on his behalf may be made to Rockport Fire Department. A celebration of life will be held at Fulton Convention Center at 6 pm Saturday, August 28th, 2021.
