Gilbert Jimenez Ancira Sr., 86, passed away on June 5, 2023, at his home in Skidmore, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born on March 20, 1937, in Aransas Pass, Texas to parents, Martin Ancira Sr, and Juanita Jimenez Ancira.
Gilbert is survived by his children, Irma A. (Edward) Bryan, Monica (Lance) Allen,Hilda A. Guzman , Ector Ancira, John Roland (Misty) Ancira, Gilbert (Tonya) Ancira Jr., Ruben (Veronica) Cruz; thirty-six grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Gloria Perez Ancira; parents, Martin and Juanita Ancira Sr.; siblings, Martin Ancira Jr, Petra Ancira Flores, Inocencia Ancira Gomez,and Gloria Perez Ancira ; Children, Rebecca Ancira; stepchildren, Barbara Ann Perez, and Guadalupe Perez.
Gilbert was a construction worker for many years, he also was a carpenter who really enjoyed building and painting. He was a great handyman around the house. Gilbert will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Aransas Pass. Interment to follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jonathon Lee Tristan, Paul Anthony Tristan, JC Cotten, Albert Alvarez Jr., Ryan Ayers, Joshua Ayers, and Victoria Vasquez.
