Gerald Wayne Hardesty

January 27, 1952 — January 2, 2025

Ingleside, Texas

Gerald Wayne Hardesty passed away on his own terms comfortably at home with friends, family and his companion Sheba on January 2, 2025. He was 72 years old. He was born January 27, 1952 in Crane, Texas to GW Hardesty and Dicksy Marlene Hardesty.

Gerald was a true outdoorsman. He was a traveler, hunter, fisherman, and avid motorcyclist. He loved local cruises, going to Sturgis bike rallies, taking cross county bike rides, and rides for charity. He loved being on the open road with his friends and family. In his youth, he was a motorcycle riding wizard, and was excellent at motocross. He was a competition motorcycle racer and parachuter. Gerald was a great mechanic, He was always in the garage building or repairing something. As a firm believer in the second amendment he loved his guns to which he acquired quite the collection over the years. He loved his coffee and he loved his smokes. He also enjoyed having a drink with friends and family. Gerald was a great man beloved by so many.

He lived his life to the fullest, always defied deaths door and fought until the very end. He loved his family and he loved his friends. As a Father, Brother and Friend Gerald will be missed by many. One of his joys in life was motorcycles and he will keep riding on in our memories and in our hearts. I’m sure he is happy to finally be reunited with his beloved wife Shelley as they ride on together and continue their journey.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shelley Hardesty; and his parents.

He is survived by his son, Gerry Wayne Hardesty; daughter, Jodi Lynn Hardesty; brothers, Mark Gayland Hardesty, Jay Alan Hardesty, and David Anthony Hardesty; sister, Karen Elaine Phillips; 2 grandchildren.
