Gary Morris, Sr.

Gary Lee Morris Sr.,78, passed away peacefully at his home in Utopia, Texas, Monday, March 13,2017. He was born on November 9, 1938 to Thomas Clifford Morris Sr. and Elda Frances Morris in Wellsville, Ohio. Gary is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Clifford Morris Jr. and grandchild, Christian H. Morris. His is survived by his precious wife of 56 years, Sandra Joyce Morris; children, Gary Lee and Monica Morris, Sammy and Kimberly Ann Murphy; grandchildren, TJ and Brandi Hale, Ryan and Brooke Watkins, Josh Murphy, Ashley Morris and Noah and Alexis Mittman; great-granchildren, Faith, Grace, Hope and Titus Hale, and Brody, Raylee and Jaycee Watkins.

Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a dear uncle and friend to so many. He was a contented man who enjoyed the simple things in life such as a good book and was happiest when he was surrounded with family and friends. Gary proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and served the public as an Ohio State Trooper and Corpus Christi Police Officer. He was always faithful to provide for his family and was loyal in his work always going above and beyond. Gary will be sincerely missed by all that loved him. Although he has passed from this life to join the Lord in his heavenly kingdom, his life and sense of humor will be forever unforgettable.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass from nine o'clock in the morning until nine o'clock in the evening. A funeral service will be held at The Ingleside Church of the New Testament on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at two O'clock in the afternoon. Interment will follow immediately at The Palms Memorial Garden in Portland.
