Gary Don Langston Jr. was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 16, 1966, and passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 24, 2021, after he lost his battle with interstitial lung disease. Gary earned his Eagle Scout and was an EMT. He graduated from Rockport-Fulton High School in 1985 where he was active in theater, as well as speech and debate. He served his community as a law enforcement officer for 20 years and was proud to serve the public.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Gary Don Langston Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Sue Langston; brother, Cole Langston; two sisters, Marissa Whitstine and Kimberly Solis; his son, Donovan Langston; his grandson, Chance Langston; his former wife, Ellen Langston; his stepson, DeeAnthony Langston, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gary was a prankster with a wicked sense of humor. He hid plastic roaches to scare nurses during some of his most recent mischief. Gary loved to read and embraced his status as a nerd. He grew up playing Dungeons and Dragons and other role-playing games. He was fascinated by all things mystical and magical. Gary, your watch has ended. Hopefully, you have found out by now whether The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything truly is 42 – just don’t forget your towel. And maybe you will finally cuddle a Tribble. As you made us promise, we will see to it you don’t vote Democrat from the grave. Hopefully, you are having some of Granny’s pancakes and she is fretting over not having a roast ready for you yet. Gary wanted it said that he knew he had done a lot of wrong in his life, but he always tried to do better. Gary passed knowing that he was loved and cherished by many. He will not be forgotten.
