Gary Lee Billy

We just lost a special loving and caring man. Gary Lee Billy (August 30, 1955 - May 2, 2023) was born and raised in Austin, TX and attended Crockett High School. He joined the Navy and proudly served his country for 8 years and was a Vietnam Veteran.  One of his passions was helping all service members and the police. If there was a person in uniform where we were eating, Gary always paid for their meal. When he met them on the street, he’d always shake their hand and say thank you.

Gary and his wife Shaoli own and operate JJ’s Cafe and JJ’s Coastal Retreat RV Park in Rockport, TX. His family and friends will miss his witty personality, his jokes, his sarcastic remarks and knowing he loved them. He never met a stranger and always gave a helping hand to those in need.

Gary is proceeded in death by his parents: Roger Jay Billy, Jayne Billy. His brother: Steven Roger Billy; Nephew’s: Jimmy Jay Randall, Roger Alexander Billy; Niece: Marney Jayne Hagen and brother-in-law: Ed Randall.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Shaoli. Son: Gary Lee Billy Jr. & wife Natasha. Daughter: Jennifer Jayne Billy (JJ). Grandchildren; Keira, Riley, & Olivia.  His sisters & brothers: Nancy Jay Randall, Kristi Ray Billy & wife Madeline, Kathy Kay Billy, Stephen Reid, Ross Canady & wife Brenda plus several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

His Celebration of Life will be on May 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes and Crematory located in Rockport, Texas.
