Frances (Sallye) Woellert, a former resident of Rockport, TX, died in Sugar Land, TX on September 18, 2019, at the age of 89.
Born in Dallas, Texas on July 2, 1930, and daughter of the late Francis and Velma Trautschold, she graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Austin, TX; and attended the University of Texas.
In 1949, Sallye married Winston Woellert in Austin, TX and moved to Houston where she was employed by Shell Oil Company. Following their retirement in Ponca City, OK in 1985 they moved to Rockport, TX IN 1989, where they had met as teenagers in 1944. They relocated in Sugar Land after hurricane Harvey in 2017.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport; was active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Columbia Ladies, Key Allegro Women’s Club, Friends of the Library for 20 plus years.
Sallye is survived by her husband Winston and three daughters: Terry Nirider of Sugar Land, TX, Karen Word and her husband James Stephen (Steve) of Katy, TX, Julie Woellert of Houston,TX; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother inlaw, William L. Woellert and his wife Jean; son in law, A.D. Nirider and grandson, Christian Word.
Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2019 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home located at 814 E. Main St. in Rockport. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2019 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 704 E. Cornwall St. in Rockport, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society and sent to Sacred Heart Church in Rockport or given to your favorite charity.
