Frances Joann Hill, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother met her heavenly Savior on January 26, 2022. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on July 8, 1928. She attended Baylor University for two years where she met her husband, Roger Hill (deceased on May 5, 2021. They were married on Nov. 26, 1949, for 71 years. She attended Baptist Bible College later with her husband.
She was a devoted mother, housewife, and very active member of several Baptist churches in Aransas Pass, Texas. She served as a library aide at Kieberger Elementary and later taught Pre-Kindergarten at Faith Baptist Church in Aransas Pass. Joann Hill was a wonderful, caring, and loving person, who in turn was loved by many. She was known for her giving nature and adored by her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and singing. She always sang in her church choir. Joann Hill has helped others in need and gave freely of herself to make their lives better. She was a wonderful cook and everyone enjoyed her great meals and recipes. She believed in Jesus Christ and was a great example of a loving Christian and witnessed to others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Hill, son David Ronald Hill, brother Mark Daniel Ray, her sisters Nancy Eeek, and Janice Lee. Her mother Bonnie Bess Harbor and father, J.D. Ray.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hill Grice, daughter-in-law Leslie Hill, and three grandsons. They include Justin/Kim Hill and son Caleb, Robert/Jenny Hill and daughters Ailey and Aubrey, and Mark Hill. Her surviving family include her sisters, Dorothy Egge, and Elizabeth and Joe Vickers.
Visitation will be held from 9:00a.m.-10:00a.m. with funeral service to begin at 10:00a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
