Frances Jean Chiuminatta

Jean Chiuminatta, born on January 11, 1943, to Earl James and Pearl Katherine Phillips in Hutchinson, Kansas, peacefully departed this world on January 6, 2025.

 Jean's life was a tapestry of dedication, passion, and community. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1961 and went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Oregon College of Education. After realizing that Criminal Justice was not her calling, she found her true vocation in the insurance industry. She dedicated 36 years to State Farm, retiring as a respected agent in 2012. Outside of her professional life, Jean's heart blossomed in her gardens. As a Certified Master Gardener, she poured her love into every plant and garden she tended. Her passion for nature was a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Jean was also a cherished member of Coastal Oaks Church, where she participated in women's ministries and the choir. Her faith and dedication to her church family were evident to all who knew her.

Jean is survived by her loving husband Ralph Chiuminatta of Rockport, her daughters Kim Hill (Greg) of Port Aransas, and Michelle Leifheit of Dallas, Oregon. She also leaves behind her blended daughters, Carol DiGerolamo (Frank) of Riverside, CA, and Kim Garcia (Hector), Riverside, CA as well as her grandchildren Nicole Powell (Brant) of Cedar Park, Kenneth Hill (Natalie) of Portland, Sandra Averitt (Ashley) of Dallas, Oregon, and Dwayne Leifheit of Dallas, Oregon. Joe Byrd (Heather) of Riverside CA. Jessika Byrd and Michael Bryd of Riverside, CA. Lauren, Erica, and Johnathan Garcia, of Riverside, CA. She was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Coastal Oaks Church Benevolent Fund in memory of Jean. Her legacy lives on through the gardens she nurtured and the lives she touched.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Interment will be held at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
