Fidel Jimenez Sr. of Aransas Pass, Texas went home to be with his almighty god on March 16, 2018 after a long courageous battle with ALS disease. He was born on June 27, 1954 to Antonio and Jovita Jimenez. Fidel served in the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge. He worked to provide for his family as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Sandblaster and Offshore Foreman on Offshore Platforms in Louisiana. Fidel is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Jovita Jimenez, his sisters Mary Hutchins, Erlinda Alaniz and his son Joe Trevino Jr.
He is survived by his wife Frances Jimenez of Aransas Pass, son Fidel (Cindy) Jimenez Jr of Aransas Pass, daughters Frances (Roger) Townsend of Aransas Pass, Maria (Joe) Avitia of Ingleside and Irma (Daniel) Trevino of Kingsville, he loved all 14 of his grandchildren dearly but his "Muneca" was his granddaughter Angelita Mia Jimenez who lighted up his heart and soul when she walked in the room, his "Perico" was his youngest grandson Tristan Max Jimenez who he was so proud of to carry on his family name. His other grandsons are Jose J Sanchez, Alfonso Serratos, Miguel Serratos, Joseph Avitia, Marcus Avitia, Bryson Ward, Morgan Trevino, his other granddaughters are Rebecca Serratos, Nicole Sanchez, Monica Serratos, Maria Townsend and Kayla Trevino, he is also survived by his brother Felix (Edna) Jimenez of Corpus Christi, sister Rosita (David) Gonzalez of Aransas Pass, and his companion Linda Navarro, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
The family of Fidel Jimenez would like to thank the staff of Windsor Nursing Home and Rehab Center for providing such loving care. Also, to his Hospice nurse Karen Gutierrez who spent the last days of his life making sure he was kept comfortable.
Viewing for Fidel Jimenez Sr will be Tuesday March 20, 2018 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm with Rosary being recited at 7:00 and His funeral services will be Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 10:00 am with burial to follow at San Ignacio cemetery in Ingleside, all services for Fidel Jimenez Sr. will be at Charlie Marshall funeral home.
Fidel will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him.
