Evangelina “Eva” Ramirez, 77, also known to her friends and family as “Vante”, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in her home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Eva was born September 7, 1947, and raised in Ingleside, Texas. She was the third of six children born to Cipriano and Anita Ramirez, both of Ingleside, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Janie Smith, her daughter Anna Marie Ramirez (grandchild Reyes Ramirez Garcia, Jr.), her son Ruben Carranco, and daughter Mary Esther Ramirez.

She is survived by her siblings Hector Ramirez (Maria), Ermelinda “Molly” Rodriguez (Lionel Rodriguez, Sr. – dec’d), Tina White, and Angel Ramirez (Jeannette). Also left to cherish her beautiful memory are her daughters Ermelinda “Linda” Benitez (Chris), and Patsy Ramirez. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren – Frankie Guzman, Jr. (Jessica), Kasandra Hale (Corey), Jessica Marie Guzman, Erica Candise Lopez, Johnathan Lopez, Cristal Lopez, Maricela Vargas, Tony Carranco, Angelica “Jelli” Carranco, Brittany Pena, Anna Marie Owens, and Woody Scott Owens. She was also a very proud great grandmother to her 21 great grandchildren – Meriyah Hale, Albany Hale, Selah Hale, Desiree Guzman, Dean Guzman, Alythia Guzman, Rhiannon Guzman, Sierra Guzman, Kadyn “Heno” Marie Ochoa, Brentley James Shobar, Jaelyn Brown, John Manuel Cason, Eric Cason, Isaac Cason, Madison Lopez, Makenzie Lopez, Jacob Lopez, John “Jay” Lopez, Jorden Randall, Aiden Durfee, Aaron Loving, and another great grandchild who is currently on the way. She was also a very loving aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews, whom she cared for as if they were her own. Eva was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Those who knew her, knew that she was an excellent cook, baker, and was exceptional in her mastery of the art of crocheting, making her an all-around superstar homemaker. We can’t forget her first true love, Elvis Presley, whose voice was angelic to her. She had an enviable collection of red (her favorite color) cookware and place settings that were proudly displayed in her home along with various photos of her children, grandchildren and great children, as well as other loving family members and friends. One of her favorite hobbies, in addition to those previously mentioned, was playing cards and she could win with the best of them – no challenge was too big for her. One of Eva’s greatest and most proud accomplishments in her life was her dedication to her loving heavenly Father, Jehovah, whom she made her dedication to on August 22, 2009. She remained a faithful and dedicated Jehovah’s Witness for the remainder of her life.
