Elton Winton

Elton L. Winton, 88, passed away on June 5, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on December 6, 1928 in Bowie, Texas to Luke and Susannah Elizabeth Winton.

Elton is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Mark Winton (Kim) of Port Aransas, Texas; daughters, Sherry L. Musick (Mike) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Nahlee Waters (Dan) of Houston, Texas; sisters, Elvena Shipman (Don) of Dallas, Texas and Valeta Viola of Ingleside, Texas; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and many dear friends.

Elton was a loving father, brother, grandfather and a dear friend to so many. He was well known thoughout Port Aransas as the "Candy Man", where alongside his son they owned and operated a local candy store. The community enjoyed being greeted by a warm and friendly personalities as much as they enjoyed their treats. He was a great man and although he is gone, his memory, warmth and life lessons will live in our hearts forever.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8th, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. The Funeral Service will take place on Friday, June 9th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Port Aransas. Interment will follow immediately at Royal Palms Cemetery.
