Elizabeth (Bette) Thompson completed her journey into the arms of the Lord on May 2, 2018 at the age of 98. She was born in Bronson, Kansas on June 20, 1919 to Campbell and Ila Berry. She attended Bronson High School and at a later date Del Mar College. She married her high school sweetheart Kenneth (Bat) Holeman and to that union a son and daughter were born. That marriage ended in divorce after 18 years.

She later married Jimmy Thompson. Jimmy and Betty were married for 50 years, until his death, October 23, 2006. During their marriage they traveled all over the world and visited 50 states in the US. Bette retired from General Motors Corp. in 1981. Jimmy retired from AT&T the next year and they moved from Corpus Christi to their weekend home in Rockport. A year later they built a home in Rockport Country Club.

Bette belonged to First Baptist Church and the Rockport Country Club. She volunteered for 20 years for Aransas County Medical Services Ladies Auxiliary. She did handiwork and made quilts for her children and grandchildren.

She was proceeded in her death by her beloved husband Jimmy Thompson and her daughter Louise Holeman, brothers Bill Berry and Dick Berry, sister Corine Wood and Verlin McKee, daughter in law Kathy Holeman.

She is survived by her son Jack Holeman; six grandchildren, Donal, Caprice, and Rana Pierucci, Jana Flaherty, Jeri Littrell, and Jason Holeman; great grandchildren (12), Troy, Travis, Meghan, Sean, Kevin, & Ryan Flaherty, Bat and Kiko Taniguchi, Campbell Boies, & Gage, Bryce and Owen Holeman. Great-great grandchildren: McKenzie, Blakley, Avery, Dane, and Nora. And her beloved sister, and best friend, Wilma Bevington.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass on Friday, June 11th. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Rockport on Saturday, June 12th at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the First Baptist Church of Rockport.
