Eliesha Barr, 57, of Port Aransas, passed away of complications from lung cancer on Friday, Nov. 1, at a Corpus Christi hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the big pavilion at Roberts Point Park. Pizza and desserts will be provided.
Eliesha was born on March 27, 1967, in Borger, Texas. She and her family moved to Port Aransas in 1971, when she was 4 years old.
She graduated from Port Aransas High School in 1985. She went on to work for many years in various jobs in the hospitality industry and was manager of Moore-McDonald VFW Post 8967 in Port Aransas.
Eliesha was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Barr.
She is survived by her two sons, Curtis James McClendon of Rockport and Trevor McClendon of Pensacola, Florida; a stepson, Dylan McClendon of North Padre Island; a stepdaughter, Lindsey Leslie of Longview; her father, Jimmy Barr of Port Aransas; two brothers, Veril (Barbie) Barr of Port Aransas and Alan (Lisa Sheka) Barr of Rockport; a nephew, Collin Barr of New Braunfels; a niece, Jamie Barr of Port Aransas; and a grand-nephew, Jaxton Barr of Port Aransas.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Moore-McDonald VFW Post 8967.
