In 1978, he moved to Dallas, TX, after he was named President of Mobil Pipeline Company, which was headquartered in Dallas. After retiring, Ed moved to Rockport, although he had a condo there since 1982, and visited regularly to enjoy boating, hunting and golf. He joined the Rockport Country Club in 1985 during its infancy and served on the Board of Directors from 1993 to 1997, presiding as President in 1996/97.
