Eddy Nester

On December 14, 2017 Eddy Nester passed away at the age of 71. He was born June 13, 1946 to Walter and Lois Nester in Union, Mississippi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lois Nester; two brothers, James W. and Thomas G. Nester and one sister, Charlotte Ming.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen of 51 years; daughters, Michelle (Shannon) Reynolds of Rockport, Texas and Laurie (Jeff) Bohn of Shreveport, Louisiana; one sister, Elizabeth (John) Uskovich of Gig Harbor, Washington and one brother, Sidney Nester of Mendenhall, Mississippi; Seven grandchildren: Josh, JJ, Ashley, Simon and Hannah Bohn of Shreveport, Louisiana. Austen and Emily Reynolds of Rockport, Texas. Two great grandchildren, Brayden and Chyna. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Eddy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force (1965-1969). He was a Vietnam veteran (1967-1968). The American flag waved proudly at their home as a sign of his love and commitment for his country.

He was employed by K-Mart Distribution Center as Department Manager for 33 years prior to his retirement. He also worked for Fincantieri Marine Systems North America Inc. Ingleside, Texas for 7 years and retired.

He dearly loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He couldn't wait for "Friday Night Lights" football games so he could watch his grandson, Austen play. He enjoyed watching granddaughter, Emily, play volleyball.

Funeral services will be held December 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm Rockport Church of God.

Full Military Honor private burial held Monday, December 18, 2017 Coastal Bend Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers: Joshua, JJ, Simon Bohn, Austen Reynolds, Ashley and Hannah Bohn and Emily Reynolds.
