Dwayne Gregg Solis, born on January 10, 1972, bid farewell to this physical world on March 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and gentle kindness. A deeply devoted and loyal family man, he cherished his beloved wife Sarah, their four sons Kaie, Carson, Keaton and Caden and the many fur-babies that completed their family. His greatest gift, success and purpose was wrapped in those closest to him.
Dwayne is preceded in death by his parents, Felix Nava Solis and Candelaria Otero Solis. He is survived by his loving wife Sarah Duffy Solis, his sons Kaie Salazar and Carson, Keaton and Caden Solis. In addition, he is also survived by his four brothers and sisters, Jody Solis, Gina Solis-Perkins(Gene), Mark Solis & Luanna Solis-Mann (Johnny), in addition to many nieces, nephews and other extended family and life-long friends.
Dwayne’s trade of choice and passion was as a master electrician. He initiated his career locally, working for Barre Electric where he was afforded a solid foundation and skillset both for his career and life in general. It was that foundation that helped prepare him for his most recent position as Director of Operations at Sinton ISD, where he was very proud to be chosen as part of such a fantastic organization. In his free time, Dwayne also enjoyed extending his expertise by teaching; many times, he stepped in to complete the vision of someone else’s DIY project, never accepting payment because the true payment for him was the time that he got to spend with whomever he was helping. This is the man that Dwayne was and who he taught his boys to be.
Although Dwayne will certainly be remembered for his work and professionalism, his greatest attributes came directly from his heart and spirit. His gentle demeanor, unwavering love, and genuine kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dwayne had a gift for making everyone feel important, never failing to greet both those closest to him or even strangers with warmth and openness; he always made sure to engage in conversations that were meaningful, pertinent, and kind. Anyone approaching him was always acknowledged and met with a kind tilt of his head as he paid them his full attention. Every greeting included a lean forward and warm handshake or hug, doing the same upon departure. His generosity of spirit and genuine compassion left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Dwayne was a great steward of humanity and human kindness; he was a gift to all who knew him.
In the wake of his passing, Dwayne leaves behind an entire community deeply saddened by the loss of such a kind and remarkable soul. He was truly one of a kind; to know him was to love him. His memory will continue to inspire the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his presence. Dwayne Gregg Solis will be sorely missed but forever cherished. May he rest in peace, knowing the profound impact he made during his time with us on Earth.
