Dorothy Lee Taylor Stewart, put away her dancing shoes and met her heavenly Father on May 7, 2018, 8 days short of her 92nd birthday. Dorothy was born in1926 in Cuero, Texas to Charles and Eva May White Taylor, she was the 10th child of 15.
She married Walter Schultz in 1946, giving her son Fred Glenn Schultz. Her second marriage in 1953 to James O. Stewart gave them James Michael Stewart.
Dorothy was always the life of the party. She grew up going to dances all over Texas, including, Cuero, Yoakum, Shiner, Victoria, Ingleside, Corpus Christi and Robstown. Dorothy loved having fun and was the life of the party. She loved her time riding with the Texas Trail Riders Association. She spent her last few dancing years with her longtime friend, Ms. Jo Smith. After Jo's passing she moved to Ingleside on the Bay to live with son, Mike.
Dorothy had very recently moved to the Cuero Nursing Care Center where she received very loving care.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Stewart; son, Glenn Schultz; grandson, Paul Shedd; half-brothers, Alfred, Teddy, Rudy Jesse, Roy; half-sisters, Tyna and Ivy; brothers, C.T., Fred, Robert, Johnny and sister, Beulah.
She is survived by her son, Mike Stewart (Becky); brother, Terry Taylor (Jan); sister, Bobbie Faye Taylor Unruh (Phil); sisters-in-law, Lillian Taylor and Gladys Taylor; grandchildren, Becky Eyer (Jarrett), Lori Byrnes (John), Shelley Schultz, Lynn Farrell (Chuck), Jimmy Stewart (Amanda), Andrea Villegas (Dorian) Katrina Gilden (Dallas); great-grandchildren, Darby and Remington Eyer, Ariel and Liam Byrnes, Taylor Shedd, Morgan and Sullivan Stewart, Nathan and Brooke Villegas, Paige Lanie and Griffin Gilden.
Visitation will be held from 12:00p.m. until service time at 2:00p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rockport Cemetery.
