Doris Hubbell

Doris Hubbell of Rockport, TX, passed away September 23, 2017. She was born February 8, 1924, in Saginaw, MI, to Cecil and Beatrice Knisley Weiderhold and married James Hubbell in June 1943, all of whom predeceased her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kay Butzin and Donna Yates, both of Rockport; her sister Dorothy (Charles) Collison of Stratford, CT; three grandsons, Scott (Anna) Butzin of Peoria, IL; David (Paula) Barckholtz of Union, KY; Rob (Krista) Barckholtz of Lakewood, CO; and three great-grandchildren, Brynn, Brayden, and Rachel Barckholtz.

Doris and Jim were instrumental in the establishment of United Saginaw Credit Union, since renamed United Financial Credit Union, and co-managed it from 1964 - 1980, when they retired to St. Augustine, FL.

In retirement, Doris volunteered for the sheriff's department in St. Augustine for five years. After relocating to Texas, she volunteered for the sheriff's department in Rockport for the next fifteen years. She was also an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Rockport.
