Donna Dick

Donna Jo Dick, known by many of us as mom, JoJo or DJ, went on to be with our good Lord on May 3, 2017. There she is reunited with her father, Curtis Smith. Faithfully serving out our days and remembering her are her mother, Emma Lee Smith, brother, Darrell Smith and wife Monica, nephew Michael and niece Ashley, sister, Terry Smith, and brother David Smith and Rodney Pena, her beloved husband of 35 years Billy Dick, daughter Megan Byrd and husband Matthew, son Matthew Garrett Dick and wife Alexa and countless other family members, those "just as good as family," and friends who adored and loved her. We will go on sharing stories of Mom (JoJo) and her love for her five precious grandchildren, Anna, Samuel and Claire Byrd and Jovi and Caleb Dick, to them as they grow.

Mom was born in Navasota, TX on August 8, 1959. She loved dancing and country music and met the love her life there at the local VFW Hall. It is hard to believe any other couple spent more time in each other's presence than mom and dad. They moved to Rockport in 1990 and raised our family. Our home was always full and she was mom to so many more than us. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockport and raised her children in the love of the Lord. She was known for her sweetness, kindness, and patience, for her hard work and her beautiful dimples. We fondly remember her moto "nobody cries alone," and she meant it! Today we cry for mom, tears of sorrow for our great loss and tears of joy for her eternal peace in the presence of God.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Rockport on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations in mom's memory to Tri-Cities Ministries, 1301 Hogan Lane, Waco, TX 76705.
