Donald Wilson

Donald Eugene Wilson, born December 30, 1933 in Wichita Falls, TX, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2022 at home in Portland, Texas, surrounded by his family.

Don graduated from Sundeen High School in 1952 and he married Rosa Lee Cole on February 11, 1961. They were married for 61 years and raised two children together. They were active members of First Baptist Church in Portland, Texas. Don retired from Reynolds Metals Company in 1997, after 40 years with the company. Don enjoyed nature, especially photography, animals, and fishing, but his greatest love was his family.

Don is survived by his wife, Rosa Lee; his children Donald Wilson, Jr. and Karen (Ross) Alvarado; his grandchildren Crystal Day, Sabrina (Zach) Graf, and Travis Wilson; six great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Bobby Wilson, Sharon Crouch, and Patricia Aldrich. He is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Rogers, and his parents, Thomas and Irene Wilson.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX. Burial to follow at The Palms Memorial Gardens in Portland.
