Rockport

Donald Earl Mannor, 85, of Interlochen, passed from this life on March 29, 2025, at Harbor Hospice House, Portland, Texas while surrounded by his family. He was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Buckley, the son of Francis Edwin and Lucille (Skellett) Mannor of Buckley.

Don was raised on the family farm and was the third child of seven. On Oct. 31, 1983, he married Carol (Pratt) Barnes, of Cadillac. Don and Carol were happily married for 41 years.

Don worked at Northern Restoration in Traverse City, as well as many jobs in the Houghton Hancock area in the upper peninsula. For several years, Don worked at TC Rentals in Traverse City as a maintenance mechanic, before becoming a co-owner of the business. Don later sold his portion of the business to fully retire and become a “Winter Texan.” Don and Carol purchased a fifth wheel in Fulton Oaks RV and Mobile Park in Fulton, Texas and that became their winter home away from the snow and cold of Michigan. Don had many jobs in the park over the years, which included putting up fencing around the park, building many decks, trimming trees, preparing craft projects for the “crafting ladies” and helping with maintenance projects for folks throughout the park.

Don liked to fish, play pool, card games and spend time with family. He had a flourishing vegetable garden each year, liked to tinker with homemade projects and made birdhouses, name and address signs, cabinetry, wooden toys and much more for family and friends. Don was a proud working member of the Buckley Old Engine Show for many years and a standing member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3503 in Interlochen.

Don is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Alysia (Keith) Leibold, of Fife Lake, Kelly (Garry) Lemcool, of Grawn; son, Kevin (Yolonda) Barnes, of West Dundee, Illinois; siblings, Joan Rowland, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Mary Butler, of Traverse City, John Mannor, of Buckley; sisters-in-law, Marina Mannor, of Stockton, California, Audrey Mannor, of Mission, Texas, and Deborah Schweizerhof, of Lake City; grandchildren, Tia Mannor, T’Anna (Leah) Sims, Maurice Sims, Rachi Sims, Jason Lemcool, Megan Lemcool, Rebekah Barnes, Elizabeth Barnes, Amanda (Eric) Murchie, Alaina (Ian) Olds-Mckinley, Atesha (Zach) Sedlacek, Alex (Kait) Olds, and Ann (Andre Bouthillier) Schwartz.
